This film was directed by Kurt Maetzig, a renowned member of the GDR’s The Academy of Arts, and stars Günther Simon, Julius Ongewe and Yoko Tani. The film was first released by Progress Film in East Germany, running 93 min. The character premiered in the early 1940s.
